Assignment 1 : WWW Surfing (due: Th 6 Feb , 1997)
Surf the web and answer the following questions:
(your answers should include the URL where this information is found.) [8 points]
As you do this, keep the following in mind:
In the next assignment you will be creating the web content! So:
Make notes about the interesting things you find, and ideas about what you might want to do.
You may wish to use the Bookmark function in Netscape to save your URLs (but remember if you are using a computer that is not your own to take the Bookmarks file with you or otherwise save it's contents!)
You can supply as many URLs as sources of info as you like. If you do, try to give them in order of salience and utility. And remember: More is not always better!
You are welcome to submit your homework in HTML. In fact, I would prefer it, but it is not required and will not make any different to your grade. If you use the Bookmark function of Netscape to save all the URLs for the answers, you'll be half-way (but only halfway!) there...
When you email me your homework, please do it as:
As an "attached document" (via Eudora or other MIME-compatible format)
As text included in the body of an email message. In this case, please send only the HTML file as the message, with a subject line reading Ling 158 - Homework One
