What's New With CBOLD

February 1997 : CBOLD is in the news!

Older new news...

We have refreshed our FTP site to allow researchers to download the data files we have prepared so far. In fact, all CBOLD data is now up on the web at this site and can be (with caveats!) downloaded.

After all, the project has gathered 262,000 words from 133 sources. Since most of these sources are distinct Bantu languages, this means you'll be able to get substantial lexicons of over one hundred Bantu languages from our Web site at http://www.linguistics.berkeley.edu. Check out the inventory to see what's in store.

We are also working on forms for retrieving data over the Web.

The Web version of the Bantu Bibliography is the work of Collin Baker and John Lowe at UC Berkeley.

The List of Bantu Languages was assembled by John Lowe at UC Berkeley and edited by Larry Hyman, but needs to be further edited by Bantuist colleagues worldwide. Please pitch in if you see errors

Of course, this material is all tentative and we know there are still lots of problems.

Keep checking to see the latest in Bantu Lexicography! Your contributions are solicited! Send suggestions and corrections to jblowe@socrates.berkeley.edu in HTML format (if possible). These documents are maintained as a service to the Bantuists of the World, and hangers-on in the World Wide Web community. We must reserve the right make modifications as we see fit.
