Information about Linguistics sub-fields at Berkeley:
The departmental Phonology Laboratory is an active site for experimental research; the department also houses the Survey of California and Other Indian Languages, as well as several large research projects such as FrameNet, the Sino-Tibetan Etymological Dictionary and Thesaurus (STEDT), the Comparative Bantu On-line Dictionary (CBOLD), the Turkish Electronic Living Lexicon (TELL), Yahi Translation Project, and the Yurok Language Project. There are several interest groups that have periodic meetings, such as the Syntax and Semantics Circle, the Phonetics and Phonology Phorum, and the Group in American Indigenous Languages (GAIL).
