BWLG 5 will be held at the Berkeley Conference Center, located at 2105 Bancroft Way, Berkeley, California, at the corner of Shattuck and Bancroft, 1/4 mile west of the University of California campus. The official hotel of the conference is the Hotel Durant, located at 2600 Durant Avenue, Berkeley, California, at the corner of Bowditch and Durant. The conference site is a fifteen-minute walk from the hotel. (Bus service available.)

FROM OAKLAND AIRPORT:
• 1. Taxi: about $30.00
• 2. Bay Area Shuttle: A van leaves the Oakland Airport every hour from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The Hotel Durant is a regular stop. Return trips from the Hotel Durant leave every hour from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Reservations are required. Fare: $10 per person. (415) 873-7771.
• 3. BART: Take the Air-BART shuttle to the Coliseum station. Then take a Richmond-bound train to the Berkeley station. The shuttle runs every 15 minutes from 5:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. Fare: $2.00. BART runs from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. every day. Fare: $1.65 from the Coliseum to Berkeley. You may obtain a transfer good for half the fare on an AC Transit Bus before leaving the BART station. The 51 bus runs every 15 minutes from downtown Berkeley to the Hotel Durant. DRIVING: Take 880 North to 24 East. Exit on Martin Luther King, Jr. Way. Turn right on Alcatraz. Turn left on Telegraph. Turn right on Durant. The Durant Hotel is on the corner of Bowditch and Durant on the righthand side. (If you've reached College Ave., you've gone too far.) To get to the conference center, you should follow the directions above, but pass Alcatraz and turn right on Ashby Ave. instead. Turn left on Shattuck Ave. The Conference Center is on Bancroft and Shattuck. Note, however, that Bancroft is a west-bound one way street. There are several parking garages within walking distance of the conference in downtown Berkeley.

FROM SAN FRANCISCO AIRPORT:
• 1. Taxi: about $45.00
• 2. Bay Area Shuttle: A van leaves the San Francisco Airport every hour from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The Hotel Durant is a regular stop. Reservations are required. Fare: $10 per person. (415) 873-7771.
• 3. Airport Connection: A van will take you from the airport to the Hotel Durant, which is offering special accommodation rates for the conference. Return trips from the Hotel Durant to the airport are also offered. Reservations are required; call 415-877-0901 or use the white courtesy phone at the airport terminal. Fare: $15.00; $10.00 student fare.
• 4. Shuttle/BART: A shuttle will take you to downtown San Francisco, where you can take a BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) train to Berkeley. Take an AIRPORTER BUS to the downtown Sheraton Palace Hotel. This stop is one block from the Montgomery Street BART Station. The AIRPORTER runs every 30 minutes from 6:20 a.m. to 12 a.m. Fare: $9.00 or $15.00 round trip. Once at BART, take a Richmond-bound train to the Berkeley Station. (Evenings and all day Sunday, you will need to change trains. Take a Concord train from San Francisco and get off at the Oakland 12th Street Station. On the same platform, catch the Richmond train to the Berkeley Station). The Berkeley Conference Center is one block southeast of the BART station. The Hotel Durant is one block south and five blocks west of the conference site. BART runs from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. every day. Fare: $2.25 from Montgomery Street or Embarcadero to Berkeley.
• 5. SamTrans/BART: Take the 3X shuttle from the airport to the Daly City BART Station. From there, take the Richmond train to the Berkeley Station. The 3X runs usually runs very half hour (hourly during midday on weekends) from 5:45 am to 6:15 pm weekdays; 8:30 am to 5:30 pm weekends. Fare: $1.00. BART fare: $2.65 from Daly City to Berkeley. DRIVING: Take 101 North to 80 East and cross the Bay Bridge (no toll this direction). Follow signs to 580 West (Berkeley/Sacramento). Exit University Ave. Stay to the left on the exit off-ramp, i.e. do not go to Frontage road. Take University Ave. up to the U.C. campus and make a right on Oxford. Turn left on Durant. The Hotel Durant is on the corner of Bowditch and Durant on the righthand side, after Telegraph Ave. and before College Ave. To get to the Conference Center, you should still use the University Ave. exit and make the right turn on Oxford. Turn right on Bancroft. The Conference Center is at the corner of Shattuck and Bancroft.
