Transportation to Berkeley
From San Francisco Airport (SFO)
- 1. Taxi: Fare approximately $60 to $80.

- Bayporter Express Shuttle: Goes directly from San Francisco (SFO) to Berkeley for $29. Call 877-467-1800 at the airport to get a van to Berkeley.
- Super Shuttle: From SFO to Berkeley for $35. Call 415-558-8500 for a van.
- 3. Bay Area Rapid
Transit (BART): You can take BART from SFO to Downtown Berkeley.
Take a Richmond-bound (red line) train directly from SFO to Berkeley.
On evenings and all day on Sundays, there are no direct trains from San Francisco to Berkeley. Instead, board a Pittsburg/Bay Point-bound train and at Oakland City Center (12th Street) station, transfer to a Richmond-bound train. BART runs on weekdays 4 am-midnight, on Saturday 6 am-midnight and on Sunday 8 am-midnight. The Berkeley campus is located 1 block east of the Downtown Berkeley BART station (see map). Fare from SFO is $5.90.
From Oakland Airport (OAK)
- 1. Taxi: Fare approximately $30.
- 2. Shuttle Service:

- Bayporter Express: Goes directly between Oakland Airport (OAK) and Berkeley. Call 877-467-1800 at the airport to get a van to Berkeley. The fare is $23.
- SuperShuttle: Goes directly between OAK and Berkeley for $32. Call 415-558-8500 for a van.
- 3. Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART): Take the AirBART shuttle ($3.00) from the Oakland airport to the Coliseum BART station. AirBART stands are located directly in front of both Terminal 1 and 2. At the Coliseum station, take a Richmond-bound train and get off at the Downtown Berkeley station. BART runs on weekdays 4 am-midnight, on Saturday 6 am-midnight and on Sunday 8 am-midnight. The Berkeley campus is located 1 block east of the BART station (see map). Fare: $2.20.
By Car
From I-80 take the Berkeley exit at University. Continue on University Avenue for about 2 miles, then turn right onto Shattuck Avenue. Go 6 blocks and turn left onto Durant Avenue (a one-way headed east). Go 6 blocks and turn left onto College Avenue. Take the next left onto Bancroft Way, a one-way street headed west. There are several commercial parking garages in the area: on Bowditch Street to the south of Bancroft; on Bancroft between Telegraph Avenue and Dana Street (next to the Student Union); and on Durant between Dana and Telegraph.
